Elise is the meaning of "Never met a stranger"! Her greeting & contagious smile, to leaving and her remembering my name. The atmosphere was just the same as each visit. Fun, retro, & open for making friends.

With fall weather approaching sitting outside is a nice perk. Cajun dining gem for SBC!

Passing through Shreveport and decided to get our Cajun/Creole fix; let me tell you, this is the place to do it!  The restaurant is in an old gas station/repair shop.  The waitress behind the counter handed us a menu when we walked in, and instructed us to place our order at the counter after we decided what we wanted to eat. Drinks are self serve on the wall behind a small bar.

The menu is only one side of a large placemat, but let me tell you, they have all the heavy hitters - seafood gumbo, etouffee,  jambalaya,  red beans and rice, poor boys. We chose the pick two combo, which was supposed to be smaller portions. We were shocked when we were served four huge servings!  Everything comes with local french bread. The food is a bit on the spicy side, so be prepared.

We also tried the beignets - not at all what I expected - more like a cross between a croissant and a donut, floating in a cloud of powdered sugar. Totally delicious.

Hubby tried the chocolate bread pudding, not as chocolatey or as sweet as I expected it to be, kinda bland.

This place is overrated. I've tried a few things here, after a few trips and it just goes downhill every time. The first time I had brisket Mac n Cheese which isn't on the menu but came highly recommended. It was delish. The next time I had the etouffe  and it was OK at best. Last time I had the shrimp and grits. First, shrimp and grits should be made with bacon and not tomatoes. Second it was way too spicy and only had like 6 pieces of shrimp.

On the positives, the atmosphere is kinda cool and hipster because of the old garage that it's converted from, and they're dog friendly.

If you're looking for real LA food, this is not the place to go.

Stopped by today for lunch on the recommendation of a few locals. This place is not what I expected...but that is not a bad thing. It looks like a remodeled garage which works because opening the garage doors allows for an open seating area under a shaded overhang. They do have a bar area but it was a work lunch so I can't speak to their drink menu. I ordered the catfish platter with dirty rice.

First, the bad: I had two people with me. We all ordered but my food came out 15 minutes after all other food.

The good: Food was amazing and they sent out a free order of beignets to apologize for my order being late. After one bite, all is forgiven. The portions are HUGE! The dirty rice was amazing. Staff was friendly. Outdoor seating was perfect. This place is truly a local gem. A true asset to the local community. This is a "must stop" when in the area...I would even say it's worth going out of your way. I plan on stopping by at least one more time before I leave to.

Stopped in again before I headed out of town. Got the small crawfish étouffée and a side of boudin balls. Food came out in a timely manner this trip. Service was great! The food is truly spectacular here. Great job! Bigger crowd today but still plenty of room for everyone to find a table. The food coming from the kitchen looked amazing. The portions are soooo big here. Thanks again for the great meals during this trip. I will be back when I'm in town again.

Some of the best food around a five-star place to me to service the food outstanding. Cannot find anything bad on the menu. Come with a appetite because the portions are huge. And if you bring your dog they're welcome to to help you out:-)
